Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional - Lead Float to provide comprehensive support to individuals to build and strengthen their natural support networks. You will advocate for the individuals in medical, community, and daily living activities with dignity and respect, including in emergencies.

You will help individuals become more independent in life skills, participate in events (including driving and potential overnight trips), and complete

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable populations required.
• Experience and/or training of at least one year with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Medication administration training required (may be obtained after hire).
• First Aid training required, and CPR certificate may be required (may be obtained after hire).
• Mental Health certification may be required (may be obtained after hire).
• Bureau of Criminal Affairs background study clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to develop independent living skills (meal preparation, hygiene, medication administration, cleaning, laundry).
• Assist with activities and community participation, including driving and overnight trips.
• Complete documentation and attend required trainings and meetings.
