Job summary

DRTC is seeking an Employment Training Specialist to support individuals with developmental disabilities in developing job skills and independence, in community and center-based settings. The role emphasizes hands-on coaching and safe, respectful support.

The position involves transporting participants, on-site coaching, documentation, and collaboration with a team to meet individual goals while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher required.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred (not required).
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous supervision and direct support to individuals in community job sites and training environments.
• Train individuals on job tasks, workplace expectations, safety, and communication skills.
• Support development of vocational and life skills to promote independence.
• Deliver on-site coaching and hands-on instruction tailored to individual goals.
• Monitor work quality and ensure completion of tasks and deadlines.
• Provide positive behavior supports and assist with crisis intervention if needed.
• Assist with personal care needs when required.
