Job summary

People Creating Success, Inc. in Oxnard, CA, is hiring a Direct Support Professional for an adult residential facility. You will support daily living skills, follow care plans, and help participants engage with the community.

The position offers flexible shifts with $20.60 per hour, a $10 monthly cell phone stipend, and benefits when transitioning to full-time employment. CPR/First Aid and DSP certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR / First Aid certification preferred or training provided.
• DSP 1 & 2 certification preferred; internal certification programs available.
• A valid driver’s license required; weekend availability is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Help participants with daily living tasks such as cleaning, cooking, budgeting, and light housekeeping.
• Follow care plans and assist participants in achieving personal goals.
• Encourage healthy habits, hobbies, and social activities for community engagement.
• Assist with accessing and participating in community activities.
• Assist with personal care including medication support, hygiene, and bathing as needed.
• Document shift logs and progress notes to track goals.

Employment Information

Location: Oxnard

Full & Part-Time: $20.60 / hour

$10/month cell phone stipend

Flexible shifts ranging from morning, evening, and overnight shifts

Your Responsibilities

Support participants with daily living skills such as cleaning, cooking, budget management, and light household duties

Following care plans and helping participants achieve their personal goals

Encourage healthy habits, studies, hobbies, and social activities

Assist participants access and participate in community activities

Assist with personal care such as medication support, hygiene and bathing (lifting / transferring may be required)

Collaborate Person-Centered Care planning with participant, staff and management

Document shift and communication logs

Who We’re Looking For

Someone who is compassionate with a person-centered mindset

Someone who has a warm, respectful, and professional demeanor

Someone who is capable of communication with dignity and respect, especially during challenging moments

A valid driver’s license

Responsible, and can document goal progress tracking with detail

DSP 1 & 2 certification (preferred, applicants who are not yet certified can take advantage of our internal certification programs)

CPR / First Aid certification (Training will be provided if applicants are not certified or need to be recertified)

Weekend Availability (Is a plus but not required)

Candidate Expectations of Development

Behavior Support & De-escalation: Support individuals through heightened emotional responses, complex behaviors, and sensory overload using proactive redirection and calming techniques.

Emotional Regulation: Recognize early signs of stress or escalation and guide individuals through personalized self-regulation strategies.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed shift logs and progress notes.
