Job summary

People Creating Success (PCS) is seeking a Direct Support Professional / Personal Attendant to support adults with developmental disabilities in the Santa Barbara/Goleta area. The role offers flexible shifts, part-time and full-time options, and benefits as you transition to full-time employment.

Compensation starts at $20.25 per hour with a $10/month cell phone stipend, health care benefits and PTO, and a $500 sign-on bonus. CPR/First Aid certification is required or training provided.

Qualifications

• Compassionate with a person-centered mindset.
• Capable of communicating with dignity and respect, even in challenging moments.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Responsible and able to track goals and progress.
• Weekend availability is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support participants with daily living skills such as cleaning, cooking, and budgeting.
• Encourage independence, hobbies, and social activities.
• Assist participants access and participate in community activities.
• Provide personal care support including medication assistance, hygiene and bathing (lifting/transferring may be required).
• Collaborate on person-centered care planning and record progress of the care plan.

Employment Information

• Part-Time & Full-Time: $20.25 / hour
• $10/month cell phone stipend
• Flexible shifts ranging from morning, evening, and overnight shifts

Your Responsibilities

Support participants with daily living skills such as cleaning, cooking, and budgeting

Encourage and model independence, hobbies, and social activities

Assist participants access and participate in community activities

Assist with personal care such as medication support, hygiene and bathing (lifting / transferring may be required)

Collaborate Person-Centered Care planning with participant

Record progress of care plan

Who We’re Looking For

Candidate Expectations of Development

Behavior Support & De-escalation: Support individuals through heightened emotional responses, complex behaviors, and sensory overload using proactive redirection and calming techniques.

Emotional Regulation: Recognize early signs of stress or escalation and guide individuals through personalized self-regulation strategies.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed shift logs and progress notes.
