Job summary

DABS, Inc. is hiring a DSP/Personal Attendant in California to provide person-centered supervision and ADL support for adults with developmental disabilities. You will help ensure health and safety in home and community settings, following BSPs and behavior support plans.

Qualified candidates have 2–3 years of relevant direct support experience, IPP/ISP/BSP proficiency, and CPR/First Aid certification. Driving is required for some duties and a background check is mandatory.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of direct support experience for individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Experience with IPP/ISP and BSPs.
• Training in Safety Care or crisis intervention (CPI) preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification required on hire.
• California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to communicate clearly and document observations accurately.
• Professional ethics and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered supervision in home and community.
• Assist with ADLs including bathing, toileting, dressing and hygiene.
• Prepare meals and assist feeding; light housekeeping and laundry.
• Supervise medication administration when needed.
• Transport to medical and personal appointments as required.
• Implement BSPs to prevent and de-escalate incidents.
• Observe health/behavior changes and report to supervisor.
• Complete daily logs and progress notes per DDS/Regional Center standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings as needed.
