Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in North Carolina is seeking energetic Direct Service Providers to support individuals with IDD in a safe, inclusive environment. You will assist with daily activities, personal care, recreation, and community outings, while promoting independence and well‑being.

No prior experience required—high school diploma or GED is enough; training is provided. This is a part‑time, summer role offering hands‑on experience, teamwork, and a supportive IDEAL culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Positive attitude, dependability, and teamwork skills.
• Comfortable using technology or willing to learn (EHR).
• Experience is a plus — training provided!

Responsibilities

• Support members with daily activities, personal care, and recreation.
• Encourage independence, social skills, and participation in activities.
• Assist with community outings and leisure experiences.
• Ensure member health, safety, and well‑being at all times.
• Help with lifting, transfers, and mobility as needed.
• Assist with medication administration and documentation.
• Maintain accurate documentation and incident reports.
• Work as part of a supportive, mission‑driven team.
