Job summary

Tenet Desert is seeking a DOU - Direct Observation Unit Charge Nurse (RN) for a night shift, full-time role in Palm Springs, California. The Charge Nurse will lead the ED/observation unit, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with clinical standards while coordinating patient care and interdepartmental communications.

The position requires a California RN license, a BSN, BLS and ACLS, and at least 3 years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• California RN license required, current.
• BSN required.
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Must successfully complete EKG test within 30 days of hire.
• Must successfully complete NIHSS within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day shift operations in the Emergency Department.
• Manage unit staffing and HR processes.
• Ensure current job performance standards and competencies exist for staff.
• Coordinate orientation and mandatory continuing education.
• Support PI, quality improvement and policy development initiatives.
• Maintain communication with staff, physicians and management.
