Job summary

National Council on Aging in Arlington, VA seeks a Lead, Direct Care Workforce Development to drive multi-state TA efforts, develop tools, and expand support for strengthening the direct care workforce nationwide.

The role partners with state and national stakeholders, translates complex workforce challenges into practical strategies, and leads high-impact projects with minimal oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 5–7 years of postgraduate work experience in a related capacity.
• Knowledge of direct care workforce, aging, LTSS, HCBS, Medicaid, health care, workforce and economic development, education and training, labor and employment, or career pathways.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of the TA strategy across modalities (e.g., direct TA, webinars, web-based workshop series).
• Oversee development of high-quality, public-facing deliverables (e.g., presentations, briefs, reports, e-newsletters).
• Manage relationships with Strategies Center partners, subcontractors, vendors, subgrantees, SMEs, and Advisory Committee members; oversee contracts, POs, invoicing, and communications.
• Represent the Strategies Center at convenings and conferences.
• Monitor policy developments, workforce trends, and emerging practices; translate into actionable TA insights.
• Prepare funder and program reports by synthesizing activities, state accomplishments, partner contributions, and lessons.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
