Job summary

Legacy Staffing is seeking compassionate Direct Care Staff to provide care, supervision and support to residents in a residential program for individuals with mental health conditions. This role focuses on maintaining a safe, structured environment and helping residents develop life skills.

The night shift offers $21-$23 per hour, DOE, with shifts 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Requirements include a high school diploma, two years’ experience with mentally ill populations, a California driver’s license,

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience providing services to mentally ill or similar populations preferred.
• Valid California driver's license, reliable vehicle, and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass health screening, TB test, and criminal background check including a Live Scan.
• Strong communication skills and personal qualities of warmth, responsibility, and respect.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site monitoring and assistance to residents.
• Support individualized service plans and daily schedules.
• Supervise medication administration per physician instructions.
• Conduct room checks and light housekeeping.
• Ensure compliance with house rules and provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Assist with organizing and supervising recreational, social, and cultural activities.
• Model and teach daily living skills such as personal care, budgeting, shopping, and maintaining an orderly home environment.
• Provide transportation for group outings.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
• Maintain client confidentiality and report unusual situations promptly.

This role is essential for providing care, supervision, and support to residents, helping them develop life skills and maintain a safe, structured environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with mentally ill populations and a strong commitment to client well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Care & Supervision:

• Provide on-site monitoring and assistance to residents
• Support individualized service plans and daily schedules
• Supervise medication administration per physician instructions
• Conduct room checks and light housekeeping
• Ensure compliance with house rules and provide crisis intervention when needed

Group Activities:

• Assist with organizing and supervising recreational, social, and cultural activities
• Instruction: Model and teach daily living skills such as personal care, budgeting, shopping, and maintaining an orderly home environment

Transportation:

• Provide transportation for group outings

Shifts Available

• Night Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM ($21-$23)
• Opening #1: Wednesday - Sunday
• Opening #2: Friday - Tuesday (Saturday & Sunday 10am - 6pm)
