Job summary

Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking dependable Direct Care Staff to support residential group homes in Southwick and Palmer, MA. You will help residents with daily living, medications, and community integration to promote independence within the local communities.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, clear communication, and teamwork. AMAP/CPR/First Aid training is preferred, with shifts on 2nd or 3rd depending on needs. Competitive hourly wage and signing bonus available.

Qualifications

• Licensure & Logistics: Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, pass background checks.
• Certifications: MAP training, CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
• Shift Availability: 2nd or 3rd shift, including weekends.
• Preferred Experience: Experience with dementia or behavioral complexities desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, and meals.
• Administer prescribed medications after training/certification.
• Advocate for residents in community settings to promote independence and well‑being.
• Build professional, person‑centered relationships while maintaining boundaries.
• Maintain a clean, safe, home environment tailored to residents’ needs.
