Job Description
Job Summary
Perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy. Evaluate, write, and present healthcare utilization and cost containment reports, making recommendations based on relevant findings. Execute data science and statistical analytical experiments to help solve various problems and make a true impact across healthcare domains.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Directs Health Plan strategic analysis and planning, coordinating across business units to meet data analysis needs.
- Mentors, coaches, and provides guidance to team members.
- Sets departmental priorities in line with operational plans, budgets, and regulatory requirements. Performs deep dive analyses across health plans, providing actionable insights, and collaborating to optimize revenue outcomes.
- Observes growth opportunities in Medicaid/Medicare/Marketplace, develops analytical frameworks to support business cases, and addresses process gaps.
- Partners with health plans to design Payment Integrity campaigns, evaluate performance, and develop insights for future improvements.
- Presents complex analytical information clearly to all levels of audiences. Collaborates with the analytics team on project delivery.
- Performs other duties as required, exploring data solutions and technology opportunities, and referring to appropriate teams.
- Applies statistical and computational methodologies to provide actionable insights and identify opportunities for quality, experience, and cost improvements.
- Develops scalable, efficient, and automated data analysis processes, including model validation and implementation.
- Creates algorithms and models to analyze big data, improve models, and ensure data quality.
- Develops novel approaches for data exploration, analysis, and feature selection from large, multidimensional datasets.
- Executes experiments to solve healthcare problems and make impactful contributions.
- Analyzes data for trends and patterns, interpreting data with clear objectives.
- Utilizes tools and techniques to extract insights from industry trends.
- Implements tools and languages such as Hadoop, Power BI, R, Python, SQL, Impala SQL, Toad, and Apache Superset.
- Builds patient-focused population predictions and provider-specific activity outliers using Python packages.
Job Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or related field.
Experience:
- 5 years leading healthcare analytics functions.
- 7 years' work experience preferred in healthcare environments.
- Strong knowledge of Hadoop, Power BI, R, Python, SQL, Impala SQL, Toad, Apache Superset, and data science packages.
- Familiar with relational database concepts and SDLC.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to organize unstructured problems.

Pay Range: $129,504 - $303,040 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, education, and skills.
