Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Dining Utility Worker to maintain a clean, sanitary dining environment for students, staff and guests. The role operates dishwashing equipment, cleans equipment and service areas, and assists with stocking and maintaining kitchen facilities.

Minimum education is 8th grade with a requirement to lift 50 pounds. Probationary training is provided; high school diploma is preferred. The position is 40 hours per week on second shift, based in Columbus, OH.

Qualifications

• 8th grade education; ability to count and read warning signs/labels and communicate effectively.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Upon completion of the probationary period, must successfully pass specialized, title specific training administered by department.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in a food service operation serving students, staff and guests; operate and set up dishwashing equipment.
• Clean dish return systems and area; dispose of all trash and food waste; stock and/or supplies dispenser equipment and food items.
• Clean kitchen equipment; ensure refrigerators are clean and in accordance with prescribed standards; maintain floor cleanliness by sweeping and mopping.
• Wash windows and light fixtures; clean and maintain kitchen and serving equipment.
