University of California - Santa Cruz seeks a Storekeeper on the Main Campus to receive and inspect food service products, communicate discrepancies, and ensure proper storage according to HACCP guidelines.

You will supervise deliveries, maintain logs, verify temperatures, and coordinate with Dining Management to ensure sanitation and accurate invoicing; this is a full-time on-site role with shifts discussed at interview.

Formación

• Demonstrated related experience in a dining/food environment with responsibilities that include receiving, and stocking and storing perishable and non-perishable product.
• Demonstrated related experience working with receiving deliveries including problems, such as shortages of product, receipt of wrong items, or damaged or defective goods.
• Knowledge or ability to learn Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) Food Safety and Sanitation practices.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn inventory control and security with the ability to conduct physical cycle counts.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and time management skills with the ability to follow both oral and written instructions; prioritize work and function independently.
• Mathematical skills sufficient to calculate pricing, review invoicing, and maintain inventory.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact positively and effectively with diverse groups of individuals, including vendors, department unit leads, and students, and to work effectively with frequent interruptions.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn computer applications, including the ability to use spreadsheet, databases, word processing, e-mail, and web-based applications.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn merchandising and presentation techniques of food service.
• Ability to assign work, give direction and effectively supervise student staff.

Responsabilidades

• Receiving and Storage activities including inspecting merchandise for specifications, quality, and temperature; overseeing deliveries and reviewing invoices; recording discrepancies and ensuring correct invoicing.
• Notes conditions of delivery, logs temperatures, and ensures storage areas meet HACCP guidelines; rotates stock using FIFO and maintains cleanliness and security of storage areas.
• Invoicing and Inventory tasks including validating inventory counts, updating central stock records, and supervising stock distribution.
• Delivery duties including assisting Senior Storekeeper, delivering products to production areas, and supporting distribution of items to units.
• Student staff supervision including training, organizing on-the-job tasks, and fostering teamwork.
• Other duties as assigned, including driving campus vehicles and aiding in opening/operations when required.
