Job summary

Rochester Institute of Technology is seeking a on-campus food service associate to wash and prepare foods, support serving, and ensure cleanliness and safety in a high-volume dining environment.

Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Washes and prepares various foods for cooking or serving
  • Follows all established quality control, portioning, and customer service standards
  • Provides excellent service in a friendly, sincere, and courteous manner
  • Cleans dishware, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand
  • Ensures proper sorting and storage of dishware, flatware, trays, utensils, or cooking equipment
  • Receives and stores supplies
  • Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of food service production and service techniques and standards
  • Knowledge of food sanitation and safety standards and protocols
  • Skill in time management, organization, and multi-tasking in high volume environments
  • Skill in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
  • Ability to obtain food safety/sanitation certifications required of the position
Minimum Education & Experience

High School diploma or GED

3 years of related experience

Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered

Current Anticipated Hours/Work Location:

Location: Cafe at the Crossroads

Work Schedule: Mon-Thurs 1:30pm-10pm, Fri 10:30am-7pm, SAT/SUN OFF

Work schedule may need to fluctuate based on University-wide events, and academic breaks.

FLSA Category: Non-Exempt

Work Location: On Campus

Compensation: $19.50-$22.00
