Job summary

Wisconsin Union in Madison is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily food service operations, train on‑the‑line staff, and manage student employee scheduling across Memorial Union dining units. The role emphasizes organization, communication, and adherence to safety regulations.

The position is 100% onsite with a schedule including days, nights, and weekends. Starting wage is $22.50/hour with additional pay for weekend and night hours, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a dining operation.
• City of Madison Alcohol Operator License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• ServSafe Certificate required or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred: supervisory or lead worker experience in a dining operation.
• Preferred: front and back of house experience.
• Preferred: experience coordinating staff schedules.
• Experience using Microsoft Office or Google Drive is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leads and provides exceptional customer service, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation, catering, and associated activities.
• Performs routine and non‑routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods.
• Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Recruits, hires, onboards, and sets schedules for Memorial Union Student Dining Staff.
• Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Assigns and coordinates the day‑to‑day activities of food service staff.
• Develops and schedules logistics and menus for daily and catering operations.
