Job summary

Oregon State University (UHDS: Dining) in Corvallis is hiring 300 part-time dining student workers for Dining Services. Positions span dining centers, catering, coffee shops, MU restaurants, and store locations across campus. Some shifts are Mon-Fri; others include weekends.

Most weeks have a consistent schedule during each term. Duties include providing attentive customer service, cooking and portioning, serving items, operating POS, and keeping areas clean.

Qualifications

• Valid Oregon Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of employment and must always maintain a food handler’s card while employed with UHDS.
• Must be able to understand both written and verbal instruction, to ensure employee and guest safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about menu items, ingredients, allergens, and prices.
• Cook and prepare menu items using raw products and meats; accommodate common food allergens, including gluten.
• Portion, assemble and serve items; operate POS systems with accuracy for OSU ID, cash and cards.
• Stock, rotate products, and maintain cleanliness of work areas; drive for catering events when needed.
