Compass Group USA’s Eurest division seeks a Director of Dining Services in Roanoke, VA to lead a high-volume corporate dining operation. You will drive exceptional food quality, service, and financial results while managing a team across FOH and BOH roles.

The role emphasizes ownership of people, numbers, and hospitality standards within a thriving campus dining environment. Strong leadership and budgeting experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of direct foodservice operations management.
• Deep knowledge of food and catering trends, with focus on quality, production, sanitation, and presentation.
• P&L accountability or contract-managed services experience preferred.
• Strong supervisory, leadership, and coaching skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across management, client, customer, and associates.
• Strong financial, budgeting, accounting, and computational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer/email skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 8 front of house / back of house associates.
• Oversee overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the account.
• Interview, hire, train, and develop associates—planning and assigning work, appraising performance, resolving concerns with fairness and consistency.
• Prepare and manage the annual budget with a sharp eye on cost-effective operations.
• Utilize company systems to complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports including inventory, cash reports, production records, and payroll/timekeeping.
• Oversee and participate in food and beverage preparation and service, ensuring adherence to standards for quality, presentation, sanitation, and safety (HACCP/OSHA), with portion control.
