Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Hershey, PA is seeking a Cook to prepare meals according to approved menus and recipes while accommodating residents' dietary needs. The role involves supervising dietary staff in the Dining Services Director's absence and ensuring safe, clean kitchen operations for daily meal service.

You will monitor temperatures, manage portions to reduce waste, and participate in staff trainings.

Qualifications

• Experience in dining services
• Ability to read, write and perform simple calculations
• Ability to follow oral and written directions
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of dining services director.
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen and supervise cleaning routines.
• Monitor refrigerator/freezer temperatures and document twice daily.
• Ensure proper handling, cooling, labeling and dating of leftovers.
• Report faulty equipment and damaged items.
• Assist in training new dietary employees.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
