Job summary

University of Arizona is seeking a Dining Services Attendant, Senior to support the Culinary team in campus dining operations. You will prepare service areas, stock supplies, set up for opening, and help manage daily customer service for students, faculty, staff and guests.

The role requires flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays. You will participate in inventory, cost control and team training while delivering high-quality, friendly service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Inputs,receives and puts away storeroom orders.
• Prepares unit for opening, stocking, signs, cleanliness, and equipment.
• Sets up Sequoia, retrieves banks, prepares market and food as needed.
• Monitors food quality and employee productivity.
• Ensures all areas are staffed.
• Trains employees in duties and health codes.
• Oversees weekly inventory and controls labor/food costs.

We're seeking a passionate Dining Services Attendant, Senior to bring their skills to our dynamic team. As a Dining Services Attendant, Senior you will perform various duties necessary in the preparation of service of food. They provide quality customer service to students, faculty, staff and guests.

This position requires flexibility to work days, evening, weekend and holidays as needed work.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Inputs & receives and puts away storeroom orders.
• Prepares unit for opening, stocking, signs, cleanliness, and equipment.
• Sets up Sequoia, retrieves banks, prepares market and food as needed.
• Monitors food quality and employee productivity.
• Ensures all areas are staffed.
• Openly communicates with staff and supervisor.
• Completes product orders as required.
• Trains employees in their job duties and health codes.
• Actively develops and supports a team-based focus within Student Union.
• Rings up orders accurately, accepts money and returns correct change.
• Counts bank to verify accuracy.
• Enters totals on reports as required.
• Participates in employee discipline and guidance.
• Has knowledge of and actively supports labor cost and food cost budgets.
• Oversees and assists with weekly inventory.
• Controls labor and food costs.
• Performs forecasting, service needs and modify delivery information in Food Pro.
• Greets and serves customers in a friendly courteous manner.
• Provides suggestions and input to supervisor.
• Actively solves problems wherever possible.
• Works harmoniously with coworkers.
• Ensures all areas are staffed; delegates job assignments.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Knowledge of food service operations, including sanitation standards and food preparation.
• Knowledge of and actively supports labor cost and food cost budgets.
• Knowledge of food service equipment, such as steamers, slicers, and fryers.
• Knowledge of Food Pro.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Physical Requirement

• Occasionally lift a maximum of 50lbs.
