Job summary

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking a Dining Service Associate (8:00am-4:30pm, Mon-Fri) to join University Dining Services in Lincoln, NE. This essential role supports daily kitchen operations within Housing Dining Services, including food prep, station setup, and dish machine duties.

Candidates will build recipes, monitor quality, and help control food waste while adhering to established procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• Food Handler’s permit or ability to obtain by passing Safety and Sanitation test.
• Ability to read, write, weigh and measure.

Responsibilities

• Perform kitchen duties; including ingredient and food preparation, inventory, cooking and assembling recipes
• Set up and tear down stations
• Dish machine operations
• Build recipes based on established processes, procedures, guidelines, and recipes
• Monitor food quality, food presentation, and control food waste
• Assist within other areas as needed and other duties assigned
