Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln is hiring a Dining Service Associate for the Knoll Res Cnt-Willa Cather Dining-6777 location. The role supports multiple dining center functions, including food preparation, station setup, dish machine operations, and maintaining food quality and waste control.

The position is full-time with the 12:30pm-9:00pm Sun-Thurs schedule and requires flexibility for weekend/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• High School education plus one year experience in a work environment required; equivalency considered.
• Ability to read, write, weigh and measure necessary.
• Flexibility, ability to communicate and being a team player essential.
• Food Handlers permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test required.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and push/pull up to 100lbs required.

Description Of Work

The Dining Associate is a key position within University Dining Services.

As a Dining Service Associate, you will perform tasks in multiple areas/functions within the Dining Center, such as:

• Perform kitchen duties; including ingredient and food preparation, inventory, cooking and assembling recipes
• Set up and tear down stations
• Dish machine operations
• Build recipes based on established processes, procedures, guidelines, and recipes
• Monitor food quality, food presentation, and control food waste
• Assist within other areas as needed and other duties assigned

This position is considered essential and may have weekend or evening shifts.
