Job summary

Hillcrest Country Club in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Dining Room Host who will warmly welcome Members and guests, guide them to seating, and coordinate with the floor team for optimal table arrangement.

You will maintain reservation accuracy with the front desk, uphold service standards, and help monitor safety and policies while delivering attentive hospitality during peak times.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of service experience in a dining room or similar capacity.
• Excellent English communication with guests and colleagues.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Attention to detail and proactive service mindset.
• Strong knowledge of menu, wine pairings and service procedures.
• Grooming and uniform standards must be maintained.
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs and work weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet Members and guests as they arrive, escort to tables, and manage seating.
• Coordinate with dining room captains/managers to adjust floor plan for service.
• Maintain up-to-date reservation information with front desk.
• Monitor safety policies, enforce rules, and support performance reviews as needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a flawless dining experience.
• Collaborate with team to handle large tables and busy periods.

Job description

The Hillcrest Dining Room Host will be expert at engaging Hillcrest Members and their guests as they arrive to dine in the Dining Room, Grill Room and Patio. They will ensure the dining room is completely ready to receive our Members and Guests, greet Members by name, show them to their tables quickly and assist with seating. Displaying a true customer service orientation, he or she will always be alert to Member/Guest needs, capable of solving problems as they arise to ensure the dining experience is flawless. The Dining Room Host will work with the dining room Captains and Managers to ensure the floor plan for the next meal service is accurate and will coordinate with the team on the floor to ensure any large tables are accounted for and set up properly. They will coordinate with the front desk to ensure the most up to date reservation information is always available.
