Job summary

Hillcrest Country Club in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Dining Room Host to welcome Members and guests as they arrive in the Dining Room, Grill Room and Patio. You will greet by name, assist with seating, and collaborate with Captains and Managers to optimize the floor plan for service.

Responsibilities include ensuring readiness of the dining area, coordinating with the front desk for reservations, upholding HCC policies and safety procedures, and delivering flawless guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of service experience in a similar capacity.
• Able to communicate effectively and professionally in English with all stakeholders; follow oral and written instructions.
• Team player able to work well with others; detail oriented and proactive.
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish.
• Strong knowledge of wine, food pairing and service procedures.
• Able to learn the Hillcrest menu, wine list and member names.
• Excellent grooming and professional appearance; clean and complete uniform as designated.
• Punctual and reliable; able to work weekends, holidays, and long hours on short notice.
• Lift up to 10 lbs; CPR and Food Handler certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Seat guests promptly and assist with seating; coordinate with floor team.
• Ensure dining room is ready for service and help with floor plan adjustments.
• Coordinate with front desk to maintain up-to-date reservation information.
• Enforce Hillcrest rules, policies and safety procedures; support performance reviews as needed.

Job Details: Job Location: Hillcrest Country Club - Los Angeles, CA 90064, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $22.00 - $30.00 Hourly, The Hillcrest Dining Room Host will be expert at engaging Hillcrest Members and their guests as they arrive to dine in the Dining Room, Grill Room and Patio. They will ensure the dining room is completely ready to receive our Members and Guests, greet Members by name, show them to their tables quickly and assist with seating. Displaying a true customer service orientation, he or she will always be alert to Member/Guest needs, capable of solving problems as they arise to ensure the dining experience is flawless. The Dining Room Host will work with the dining room Captains and Managers to ensure the floor plan for the next meal service is accurate and will coordinate with the team on the floor to ensure any large tables are accounted for and set up properly. They will coordinate with the front desk to ensure the most up to date reservation information is always available. They will be well acquainted with and help monitor and enforce HCC rules, policies, and safety procedures and provide input to performance reviews as requested.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 1 year of previous service experience in a similar capacity
• Able to communicate effectively and professionally in English with all stakeholders; to follow oral and written instructions and to memorize necessary information.

• A complete knowledge of wine, food pairing and service procedures
• Able to quickly learn HCC menu, wine list and member names/faces
• A service-oriented personality, warm, friendly, and outgoing without being overbearing

• Able to juggle multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines, comfortable with frequent interruptions
