Job summary

Ecumen Seasons at Apple Valley is seeking a part-time Dining Assistant to aid with food preparation, serving and cleanup for residents in Apple Valley, MN. The role focuses on maintaining a clean work area, following facility procedures, and delivering friendly, responsive service to residents and families.

Shifts run 3:45pm–7:30pm on various weekdays, every other weekend and rotating holidays, with a pay range of $17.00 to $19.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
• Ability to follow safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents per diet order and proper portion size.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe and efficiently organized work area.
• Complete opening and closing duties and perform routine cleaning tasks.
• Notify supervisor if changes in residents' health are observed.
• Respond to resident requests, concerns or complaints and inform the supervisor.
• Work collaboratively with others in a changing environment and support team members.

• Shift: 3:45pm-7:30pm
• Position works various weekdays, every other weekend & rotating holidays.

Pay:

The targeted pay range for this job is $17.00 to $19.50 per hour.

• Provides exemplary service to our residents, families and guests, ensuring all feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service.
• Serves meals to residents per diet order and portion size, and at the proper temperature. Complies with all federal and state regulations.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe and efficiently organized work area. Products will be labeled, dated and rotated ensuring an adequate, fresh inventory of food and supplies. Operates all equipment, specific to duties, in a safe manner.
• Completes opening and closing duties as assigned. Accomplishes routine, daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities.
• Notifies supervisor if any changes in residents' personal health is observed.
• Responds to resident requests and special requests, concerns or complaints and promptly notifies the supervisor.
• Partners effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment, supports all team members within the community as directed by the leadership team.
• Assists with special functions as directed.
• Demonstrates respect for facility property and supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
• Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment
• Previous senior care experience
• Serv Safe or other food safety and sanitation training/certification
