Job summary

Ecumen Prairie Hill in St Peter, MN is seeking a Dining Assistant to assist with food preparation, serving and cleanup, while maintaining a clean, orderly work area and following facility policies for high levels of service.

The role is part-time with a schedule of 8:00am–2:30pm and 58.8 hours bi-weekly, across various weekdays and alternating weekends/holidays. The pay range is $17.00–$19.00 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 15 years of age or older.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
• Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including HIPAA.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment preferred.
• Serv Safe or other food safety certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents per diet orders and portion sizes.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe and organized work area.
• Assist with opening/closing duties and daily/weekly cleaning tasks.
• Respond to resident requests and concerns and notify supervisor.
• Work with team in a demanding environment and support leadership.

The Dining Assistant is responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving and cleanup. This position maintains work area in proper order and follows established policies and procedures of the facility while demonstrating high levels of service.

Ecumen Sand Prairie consists of 42 assisted living rental apartment homes, and Ecumen Prairie Hill consists of 43 independent living and assisted living rental apartment homes, as well as 20 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services. Schedule:

• Part-Time

Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $17.00 - $19.00 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

• Provides exemplary service to our residents, families and guests, ensuring all feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service.
• Serves meals to residents per diet order and portion size, and at the proper temperature. Complies with all federal and state regulations.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe and efficiently organized work area. Products will be labeled, dated and rotated ensuring an adequate, fresh inventory of food and supplies. Operates all equipment, specific to duties, in a safe manner.
• Completes opening and closing duties as assigned. Accomplishes routine, daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities.
• Notifies supervisor if any changes in residents’ personal health is observed.
• Responds to resident requests and special requests, concerns or complaints and promptly notifies the supervisor.
• Partners effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment, supports all team members within the community as directed by the leadership team.
• Assists with special functions as directed.
• Demonstrates respect for facility property and supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Must be 15 years of age or older
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
• Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment
• Previous senior care experience
• Serv Safe or other food safety and sanitation training/certification
