Job summary

Ecumen Detroit Lakes is hiring a Part-Time Dining Assistant to support food preparation, service, and cleanup in our community. The role involves serving meals to residents, keeping the dining area clean, and complying with safety policies.

The position offers afternoon/evening shifts with every other weekend rotation and a pay range of $17.75 to $20 per hour, with compensation based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow safety rules and facility policies (HIPAA, safety policies, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Provides exemplary service to residents, families and guests with friendly, courteous care.
  • Serves meals to residents according to diet orders and portion sizes.
  • Maintains a clean, sanitary, and organized work area; labels, dates, and rotates inventory as needed.
  • Completes opening and closing duties; performs routine cleaning tasks daily/weekly.
  • Notifies supervisor of health changes observed in residents and responds to requests or concerns.
  • Collaborates with team in a dynamic environment to support community operations.
  • Assists with special functions as directed and respects facility property.

About Us:

Ecumen Detroit Lakes is hiring a Dining Assistant. Ecumen Detroit Lakes consists of 101 independent living and assisted living rental apartment homes, as well as 92 nursing home beds and 22 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services.

The targeted pay range for this job is $17.75 - $20 per hour.

The Dining Assistant is responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving and cleanup. Maintains work area in proper order and follows established policies and procedures of the facility while demonstrating high levels of service. Complies with all federal and state regulations.

Essential job responsibilities include:
  • Provides exemplary service to our residents, families and guests, ensuring all feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service.
  • Serves meals to residents per diet order and portion size. All food will be served at the proper temperature.
  • Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe and efficiently organized work area. Products will be labeled, dated and rotated ensuring an adequate, fresh inventory of food and supplies. Operates all equipment, specific to duties, in a safe manner.
  • Completes opening and closing duties as assigned. Accomplishes routine, daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities.
  • Notifies supervisor if any changes in residents' personal health is observed.
  • Responds to resident requests and special requests, concerns or complaints and promptly notifies supervisor.
  • Partners effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment, supports all employees within the community as directed by the leadership team.
  • Assists with special functions as directed.
  • Demonstrates respect for facility property and supplies.
Dining Assistant Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • 16 years of age
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations
