Job summary

Rocketdyne is seeking a Dimensional Inspector (2nd Shift) to verify aerospace components against engineering drawings and customer specifications. You will work with precision measuring tools, interpret detailed drawings, and contribute to root-cause investigations while collaborating with machinists and quality teams.

The role requires strong GD&T expertise, hands-on inspection experience, and the ability to develop practical inspection methods for challenging features.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in GD&T and dimensional analysis.
• Experience transitioning from hands-on machining into inspection.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspection of aerospace components to verify conformance to drawings and quality requirements.
• Inspect small, complex, tight-tolerance parts using manual and automated measurement equipment.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Use precision tools including calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, comparators.
• Operate and/or program CMMs and vision systems to support dimensional verification.
• Develop and apply manual inspection methods for difficult-to-measure features.
• Document inspection results, nonconformances, and data in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with machinists, manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to verify print conformance.
• Support root cause investigation related to dimensional discrepancies.
• Maintain inspection records and ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
• Prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to meet deadlines.
