Digital/Web Data Analyst
Job Summary
As a Web Data Analyst, you will be a key player on the Universityof Utah Marketing and Communication's Digital Team, reportingdirectly to the Associate Director of Digital Research andOperations. This role is instrumental in translating web traffic,conversion metrics, and conversational data into actionableinsights for our university's digital community.
We are looking for a customer-service-oriented professional whobrings a strong technical toolkit, excellent interpersonal skills,and a proven track record in web data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner closely with the AssociateDirector of Digital Research and Operations on all coreinitiatives, identifying product improvement opportunities andaligning analytics strategy with organizational goals.
- Implementation & Data Integrity: Implement, configure, andmanage web analytics platforms (GA4, BigQuery, Hotjar, Clarity,etc.) while running technical web debugging to ensure trackingaccuracy, data hygiene, and privacy compliance.
- Reporting & Visualization: Structure complex, multi-sourcedatasets to develop and maintain intuitive dashboards using LookerStudio, Tableau, and SuperMetrics that highlight trends and KPIsfor non-technical stakeholders.
- Branded Data Visualization & Prototyping: Design andprototype custom, branded dashboards, interactive reports, andvisual assets in Figma, ensuring all data visualizations align withuniversity brand guidelines, visual hierarchy, and UI/UX bestpractices.
- Optimization & Testing: Analyze user journeys, conversionfunnels, and engagement metrics. Design and execute A/B andmultivariate tests to continually elevate website performance anduser experience.
- Conversational Analytics: Apply expertise in conversationalanalytics to build and refine qualitative and quantitativeinteraction models.
- Stakeholder Support & Training: Deliver exceptionalcustomer service while training campus partners on analytics bestpractices and privacy standards.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher educationcan be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience(Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related workexperience).
Digital Analytics Specialist, II: Requires abachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (orequivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.

Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, DataAnalytics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a relatedfield.
- Web Analytics Experience: Prior experience in web data analysiswith a proven track record of successful projects, plus workexperience dedicated to analytics and reporting roles. Digitalagency experience preferred; higher education experience stronglypreferred.
- Technical Stack:
- Analytics & BI: Google Analytics (GA4), BigQuery, LookerStudio, Tableau, Clarity, Hotjar, Ahrefs, SuperMetrics, and webdebugging tools.
- Digital Tracking: Strong experience with custom event schema,multi-channel attribution tracking, and tag management.
- Coding & Logic: Strong proficiency in JavaScript, complexformula syntax, and SQL/database queries.
- CMS & Accessibility: Hands-on experience with ContentManagement Systems (WordPress strongly preferred) and foundationalknowledge of digital accessibility (WCAG).
- Design: Excellent eye for design and ability to create branded,visual reports in design tools such as Figma.
- Operations: Experience with ticketing and project managementsystems.
