Position Summary

We are seeking a Digital Service Technician based in the Chicago, IL area. The role involves traveling across the U.S. to install, maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Komori digital/inkjet printing presses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform on-site installation and configuration of hardware and software.
2. Provide a full range of services including equipment and workflow analysis, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance training.
3. Diagnose mechanical and system failures using established procedures and perform repairs as necessary.
4. Communicate product issues to the Technical Service Manager and maintain technical communication.
5. Act as a communication link on unresolved technical problems/issues.
6. Maintain in-house equipment for demonstration, testing, and training purposes.
7. Attend training classes as needed.
8. Travel extensively as required.

Qualifications

1. Education/Experience: Associates degree or equivalent training/experience, or completion of an electronics school, with 3-5 years of experience as a field technician.
2. Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals; write routine reports; effectively communicate with groups.
3. Computer Skills: Knowledge of Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases; CAD experience preferred.
4. Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver's license required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The work involves exposure to mechanical parts, electrical risks, radiation, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, and occasional toxic chemicals. Noise levels are usually loud. The physical demands include frequently lifting/moving up to 75 pounds, using vision skills, and performing various physical activities such as standing, walking, climbing, and occasionally sitting.
