Job summary

3M in Maplewood, MN, seeks a Digital Science Development Specialist to connect scientists, data experts, and digital teams to turn R&D challenges into scalable data-driven solutions. You will lead predictive modeling, data-driven experimentation, lab automation, and AI-enabled workflows, driving adoption of digital tools across laboratory organizations and contributing to the Digital Lab roadmap.

Requires a Bachelor’s in a technical field and 7 years across multidisciplinary teams; relocation

Qualifications

Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
7 years of cross-disciplinary R&D, modeling, digital, and/or business experience with hands-on skills in modeling, DOE, statistics, and AI/ML.
Ability to translate scientific challenges into digital solutions.

Responsibilities

Identify and prioritize digital science opportunities to accelerate innovation.
Collaborate with product developers and scientists to translate challenges into data-driven solutions.
Lead pilot projects in AI, digital science, and data-driven experimentation.
Define data requirements and improve data quality and accessibility.
