Job summary

The County of Santa Clara invites applications for a professional librarian role focused on electronic resources and technology. You will administer the library’s web services, intranet, and external platforms, update information promptly, and design pages to expand offerings.

You will train staff on web-based resources, participate in maintaining the public access catalog, and coordinate with vendors on virtual services and electronic collections.

Qualifications

• The required knowledge and abilities include a Master’s Degree in Library Science or equivalent from an ALA-accredited library school.
• One year of professional library experience related to electronic resources and technology.
• Ability to travel to alternate locations with valid CA driver's license.
• Knowledge of web design and current web programming languages, and office software.

Responsibilities

• Administers public and staff web services including the library website and intranet.
• Implements time-sensitive updates to website information.
• Designs and/or participates in web page design and layout of pages and services.
• Provides staff training on web services and web-based subscriptions.
• Maintains public access catalog and virtual services with vendors.
• Maintains RPA system and evaluates electronic resources and platforms.
