Job summary

The City of Redwood City is seeking a dynamic, full-time Librarian I/II or Lead, based at the Downtown Library, to deliver expert cataloging, collection development, programs for adults, outreach, and superior customer service.

The role requires onsite work and may include evenings and weekends. A Master of Library Science degree and California driver’s license are required; Spanish skills are a plus. This is a great opportunity to grow within a community-focused library team.

Qualifications

• MLS degree from ALA-accredited program.
• Two years of professional library experience for Librarian II or Lead.
• Experience in a public library setting desirable.
• Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Cataloging, collection development, and program planning for adults.
• Outreach and exceptional customer service at the Downtown Library.
• Support and supervision as needed for in-charge duties.
