Job summary

The American Museum of Natural History is seeking a full-time Project Manager, Digital Publishing to update, publish, and maintain content across the Museum’s website and digital platforms using the CMS.

The role requires coordinating multiple projects, training CMS users, sourcing images, and ensuring accessibility and editorial standards. Salary ranges from $70,000 to $80,000 annually.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least four years experience in daily publishing using an enterprise content management system.
  • Understanding of web publishing best practices, including WCAG and SEO.
  • Solid copy editing skills, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic Photoshop experience.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and publish timely updates to the Museum’s website using current web templates and best practices.
  • Remediate outdated webpages and migrate external sites into CMS, supporting various projects.
  • Train CMS users and manage CMS workflows; test functionality and remediation needs.
  • Create and maintain a detailed project calendar and deadlines for contributors.
  • Source and process images with metadata for pages and digital channels.
  • Manage videos to publishing standards and develop transcripts with stakeholders.
  • Interpret data dashboards and create spreadsheets and presentations for remediation projects.
