Qualifications

  • 5+ years of IT or Digital Project Management delivering complex, multi-workstream projects.

Job description

Client is seeking an experienced Digital Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional digital and technology initiatives across Retail Energy and Enterprise technology environments.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large, multi-workstream projects involving business teams, IT, vendors, third-party service providers, and executive stakeholders. This role requires strong project leadership, communication, governance, financial management, and delivery skills.

Retail Energy or Utilities experience is required. Candidates with strong experience leading enterprise transformation, technology modernization, system implementation, integration, or business process improvement initiatives are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects through the full lifecycle, from initiation and planning through implementation and post-deployment review.
  • Define project scope, objectives, success metrics, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, RAID logs, and communication plans.
  • Manage project execution using Microsoft Project Online and related project governance tools.
  • Coordinate activities across business functions, IT teams, vendors, and third-party service providers.
  • Track project progress, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and critical-path activities.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders, executive sponsors, and Steering Committees.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints.
  • Maintain clear communication across business, technical, vendor, and leadership teams.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable security, audit, compliance, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Facilitate project meetings, decision-making sessions, and executive-level presentations.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, invoice tracking, and reconciliation.
  • Oversee vendor contracts, deliverables, performance, and third-party dependencies.
  • Support procurement activities, contract reviews, Statements of Work (SOWs), and change-control processes.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure contractual commitments are met.
Quality, Testing & Implementation
  • Support testing strategy, defect resolution, readiness assessments, and deployment planning.
  • Coordinate implementation activities and ensure business and technical teams are prepared for deployment.
  • Support knowledge transfer and transition-to-operations activities.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and document lessons learned and continuous-improvement opportunities.
Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships with business operations, customer-facing teams, Finance, Legal, Compliance, IT, and external vendors.
  • Collaborate with teams supporting Billing, Customer Care, EDI Operations, Sales, Pricing, Supply & Scheduling, and IT.
  • Facilitate alignment, accountability, issue resolution, and decision-making across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Translate complex technical and business concepts into clear communications for executives, business users, and delivery teams.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of IT or Digital Project Management experience delivering complex, multi-workstream projects.
  • Experience managing projects across matrixed organizations, multiple business units, vendors, and third-party service providers.
  • Strong experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience presenting to executive stakeholders and facilitating large or diverse groups.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Project, OnePlan, Azure DevOps, Jira, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, CMMI, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience in Retail Energy, Utilities, Energy, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience leading enterprise transformation and modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with business process redesign, system implementation, system integration, data migration, or platform replacement.
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as CRM, ERP, billing platforms, data platforms, workflow systems, reporting solutions, or integration platforms.
  • Understanding of energy/utility processes including customer operations, billing, pricing, supply, scheduling, contracts, regulatory compliance, or market interactions.
  • Experience working in environments with strong audit, security, compliance, and operational controls.
  • Experience with process mapping, requirements clarification, gap analysis, decision workshops, and organizational readiness.
  • General understanding of GAAP O&M and Capital accounting practices.
