Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Digital Pathology Coordinator to support the Department of Pathology’s scanning enterprise. You will gather slides, prepare metadata, and coordinate with physicians, residents, and staff to ensure timely, accurate digital imaging for consultation, teaching, and archival use.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, data integrity, and collaboration across teams. A foundational administrative background and comfort with computer systems (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required.
• At least 1 year of administrative, healthcare or science experience.
• Experience with computer systems including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collate slides from multiple areas for scanning.
• Coordinate activities with attending physicians/scientists, residents and staff.
• Perform pre-analytic review of slides for scanning and QA.
• Prepare metadata for scanned slides.
• Load/unload slides into scanner using batch management.
• Perform QA to ensure image quality and barcode integrity.
• Rescan failures as needed.
• Review operation timestamps and audit trails.
• Organize slides for return to designated areas.
• Maintain spreadsheets and tracking for workflow.
• Organize Image Management System per established methods.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues; liaise with vendor support.
• Monitor storage and purge archived files.
