Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Digital Pathology Coordinator to support the Department of Pathology’s whole slide scanning program. You will handle logistics, metadata entry, and coordination across clinicians, researchers, and staff to help deliver high-quality patient care.

The role involves collating slides for scanning, QA checks, organizing images, and maintaining spreadsheets to track workflow in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required.
• Minimum of one year of work experience in administrative, healthcare or science-based field.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based apps such as Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collate slides from multiple areas for timely scanning.
• Coordinate activities with attending physicians, scientists, residents and staff.
• Perform pre-analytic review of slides for scanning quality and barcode placement.
• Prepare metadata for slides scanned.
• Load/unload slides into scanners and manage batch scanning.
• Perform QA to ensure image integrity and barcode readability.
• Rescan failures and monitor operation IDs and audit trails.
• Organize slides for return to designated areas and maintain workflow records.
• Maintain Image Management System per established methods.
