Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Georgia seeks a Sr IT Business Analyst - Digital Manufacturing to support and develop cutting-edge applications for the pulp and paper industry, focusing on Aveva PI System integration and data workflows.

You will partner with business users and IT teams, configure PI components (PI System Data Archive, PI-AF, PI Vision), create end-user guides, train staff, and implement solutions that improve efficiency across containerboard and consumer mills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least one year as a PI System Administrator or similar role.
• 5 years overall experience in a similar role.
• Familiar with manufacturing practices and terminology, PLCs and OPC interfaces.
• Proficient with MS Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with SQL Server and Windows OS; able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Aveva PI System expert to implementation teams and key users.
• Understand business needs and design technology solutions to improve processes.
• Support PI System components: PI Data Archive, PI-AF, PI Notifications, PI Vision.
• Develop specifications for Aveva configurations and interfaces.
• Document processes, configurations, and provide end-user training materials.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with vendors.
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to deliver required functionality.
