Job summary

Cornerstones in Herndon/Reston, VA seeks a Computer Technology Program Instructor to lead digital literacy and workforce readiness for youth and adults at a community center. The role includes flexible day-evening schedules to accommodate participants and strong emphasis on equity in technology access.

You will develop engaging lessons, coach individuals one-on-one, and collaborate with on-site staff to support learning, safety, and program outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, IT, social work, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of teaching, coaching, or instructional support in community-based settings.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, job search platforms, and virtual learning platforms.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver digital literacy, workforce readiness, and enrichment classes for adults and youth.
• Provide one-on-one coaching to help participants gain confidence using digital tools.
• Develop and adapt lesson plans and materials tailored to participant needs and learning styles.
• Assist with curriculum development and ongoing program evaluation.
• Conduct outreach and assist with participant registration and retention.
• Maintain a welcoming, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Model strong classroom facilitation and positive engagement with students and families.
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot technology used in instruction (laptops, projectors, software, etc.).
• Ensure equipment is accessible, functional, and secure.
• Track attendance, document outcomes, and assist with reporting.Collaborate with staff and community partners to support broader program goals.
