Job summary

Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island seeks a Digital Literacy Instructor to teach in-person and online computer literacy to ESL learners. You will design lessons, assess progress, and integrate the NorthStar Curriculum into the syllabus while proctoring tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience teaching digital literacy to ESL or diverse learners.
• Experience with educational software and remote/online learning platforms.
• Experience with NorthStar Digital Literacy Curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement digital literacy lessons tailored for ESL learners.
• Teach fundamental computer skills such as typing, internet navigation, and file organization.
• Guide students in email communication, online safety, and cybersecurity best practices with hands-on instruction in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
• Incorporate the NorthStar Curriculum into the syllabus and proctor tests.
• Support learners in job applications, resumes, and online job searches with interactive teaching methods.
