Job summary

Colonial Williamsburg Foundation seeks a Manager, Digital Learning to lead online professional learning for K-12 educators and to expand outreach for the Bob & Marion Wilson Teacher Institute. You will partner with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality, accessible digital resources and programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, History, Museum Studies, Public History, Public Administration, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in classroom teaching, museum or historic site education, curriculum development, instructional design, or related educational field.
• Knowledge of K-12 education, including instructional best practices and national and/or state standards. Virginia standards familiarity preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and enthusiasm for history, civics, museum education, and inquiry-based teaching and learning.
• Experience developing educational resources, lesson plans, or professional learning materials.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate historical scholarship into engaging educational content.
• Experience using educational technology and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, LMS platforms, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, development, facilitation, and evaluation of the Teacher Institute's online professional learning programs, including webinars and virtual workshops.
• Develop and manage educational content for digital learning initiatives and teacher resources.
• Support new digital learning initiatives by providing educational expertise for classroom use and educator engagement.
• Support onsite and offsite educator programs, conferences, and outreach activities.
• Collaborate with historians, museum educators, interpreters, and subject matter experts to translate scholarship into classroom-ready resources.
• Review and maintain educator resources for accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with standards.
• Contribute to newsletters, email communications, social media, and promotional materials.
• Assist with educator outreach and recruitment through conferences, webinars, and presentations.
• Collect and analyze participant feedback and program data to inform improvement.
