Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Linthicum, MD seeks a Digital Engineering Manager 2 to lead a ~12-person digital hardware team within the Mission Systems Sector. You will manage workload, coordinate with program teams, and drive staffing and performance reviews while balancing staff development and project goals.

The role requires an active U.S. Government Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one. Strong communication, leadership, and process-improvement skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related field; experience may substitute per policy.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance prior to starting.
• Minimum of 6 years in digital and/or hardware design.
• 3 years of people management and leading a technical design team.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day workload for the digital hardware team (~12 engineers).
• Interface with program teams to help meet schedule and performance goals.
• Conduct performance reviews, staffing plans, and workload forecasting.
• Lead process improvements, roadmap development, and hiring.
• Develop staff through coaching, stretch assignments, and engagement planning.
