Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Digital Strategist to join our team as a Strategic Account Manager. You will collaborate with the sales team to grow digital accounts and craft creative plans using our digital tools for local businesses across Roanoke, Lynchburg, and surrounding areas.

You will establish relationships with the local business community, prospect and close new business, and manage client campaigns, rates, and performance with ongoing learning of new products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work‑related experience.
• Strong knowledge of the digital space.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Organized, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced change‑oriented environment.
• Ability to advise sellers and decision makers on digital opportunities and products.
• Proficiency in MS Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and basic office equipment required.

Responsibilities

• Working with the existing team to help grow existing and new digital accounts.
• Implement strategies to consistently grow digital revenue.
• Establishes credible relationships with local business community.
• Prospect, qualify, close, and grow NEW business.
• Makes sales calls on prospective clients.
• Work with the sales team to prepare and deliver sales presentations to clients.
• Continue to learn and implement new strategies and products.
• Work with sales team and vendors to oversee client campaigns, updating them as needed, and providing feedback to clients on campaign performance.
• Provides clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.
• Work with creative services in the production of client’s creative elements for digital advertising campaigns.
• Responsible for order entry, contracts, follow-up, and collections.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
