Job summary

SCAD seeks a Digital Fabrication Lab Lead Technician to oversee safety, functionality, and cleanliness of the Digital Fabrication Labs, assisting students and coordinating with the Lab Operations Manager on hours and staff schedules.

You will train staff, monitor lab usage, manage inventories, ensure billing accuracy, perform maintenance, schedule demonstrations, and support university events while upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or at least three years of related experience.
• Familiar with the operation and maintenance of 3D printers, laser cutters, and 3D scanning equipment.
• Proficient in Rhinoceros, SolidWorks, Adobe software, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, functionality, and cleanliness of lab equipment and facilities.
• Coordinate with the Lab Operations Manager to manage hours and staff schedules.
• Train staff on equipment use, policies, and safety procedures.
• Review shop usage statistics and ensure efficient use of personnel and space.
• Process paperwork and ensure billing accuracy.
