Job summary

The City of Tomball seeks an Evidence & Property Technician to maintain the chain of custody for evidence and property within the Police Department. You will secure, record, and dispose of items, and support documentation and logistics for investigations.

You will respond to crime scenes, document and package evidence, and handle requests from the District Attorney and FOIA. Familiarity with CSI software and department tools is advantageous.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• No prior experience required.
• Licensing: Current Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Receive, secure, preserve, distribute and dispose of physical evidence and property.
• Document, collect, package, and process evidence at crime scenes.
• Fulfill evidence requests from DA's Office and FOIA.
• Prepare destruction orders and manage disposal after approval.
