Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. (AU) in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Digital Engineering Manager to lead a team of 10–15 digital/VHDL engineers within the E&S Software and Digital Technologies department. The role requires an active Secret clearance and on-site work at Rancho Carmel.

Responsibilities include staffing, performance management, training, and program guidance across F-35/F-22 and related systems, with a focus on growth and process improvement.

Qualifications

• BS with 5+ years in digital and VHDL engineering; MS with 3+ years.
• Excellent written and communication skills with ability to work independently and within groups.
• Ability to facilitate/mediate conflict resolution.
• Working knowledge of the engineering development process, VHDL design and verification.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Must be able to work on site at the Rancho Carmel facility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance reviews, evaluating and recommending employees for promotions, evaluating salaries, and coordinating with HR.
• Assisting employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance, and counseling on performance as necessary.
• Serving as a technical performer on programs involving communications systems within F-35, F-22, CNI Production, Advanced Communications, or Small Forms Factors operating units.
• Cultivate an inclusive and engaging workplace and ensure appropriate work-life balance.
• Maintain adequate workforce to execute program plans and support strategic growth; plan assignments and fill program needs to ensure success.
• Engage with staff on growth opportunities, deficiencies, training, and execute the Enterprise review cycle; manage compensation and career progression.
• Support the creation, updating, and maintenance of digital engineering processes.
