Job summary

EY is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment and production support, while staying close to code and technical decisions.

You will mentor engineers, manage dependencies and risks, and coordinate across geographically distributed teams, ensuring clear ownership and delivery success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6+ years of technology software development experience, including leading project teams or major delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with a modern UI framework (Angular or React) and guiding full-stack decisions.
• Experience deploying and supporting enterprise apps on a major cloud platform.
• Knowledge of source control, CI/CD, containers, testing, and code-quality gates.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, sprint planning, backlog management, and delivery tracking.
• Experience coordinating distributed teams and working with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Mentorship skills and ability to elevate engineering practices across a team.
• Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar.
• Experience with logging/monitoring/observability tools like Splunk.
• Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark or Flink for data processing.
• Ability to manage delivery risks, production issues, and client communication.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software delivery across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, reviews, debugging, and technical problem solving.
• Guide solution design with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and frontend frameworks.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and demos.
• Coordinate work across geographic teams ensuring clear ownership and timely decisions.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, design reviews, and career development discussions.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, DevOps, security, and client stakeholders to craft delivery plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, issues, and delivery metrics; communicate progress.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness.
• Support event-driven and data-processing solutions using Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, or Flink if required.
