Salary/Pay Range
$ 55,954 - $65,000 annually .Compensation will be commensurate upon experience andqualifications.This position is Exempt from the Fair LaborStandards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary
The Digital Content Strategist plays a key role inshaping and executing the digital content strategy for UCCS'flagship website, uccs.edu and other supporting platforms andchannels. In this position you will:
- Monitor content performance metrics and use data to guidedecision-making.
- Develop audience-centered, digital-first content that enhancesthe user experience.
- Support student enrollment goals through strategic contentcreation.
- Ensure all content reflects and strengthens the institution'sbrand voice.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engaging,high-value content.
- Drive user engagement, conversion, and long-term audiencegrowth.
- Analyze web analytics and user insights to identifyopportunities for improvement.
- Optimize content performance through continuous testing andrefinement.
- Translate data and user behavior trends into actionablestrategic recommendations.
- Contribute to marketing strategy as a key member of themarketing team.
- Establish and maintain content governance standards and bestpractices.
- Promote brand consistency across digital channels and contentplatforms.
- Enhance the customer experience through effective contentstrategy and management.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, anddata-informed decision-making.
- Support the goals and initiatives of the MarketingDirector.
Position Term
This is a one-year full time position within UniversityCommunications & Marketing. The position is intended to providedigital content support for university marketing and communicationspriorities during the one year period. Continuation beyond theone-year is not guaranteed and would be subject to universityneeds, funding, and applicable hiring processes.
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities of theposition include, but are not limited to:
(40% Operations Management)
- Deep Digital Content Expertise: Extensive experience developingand executing content strategy, digital marketing initiatives, andhigher education web content that align customer needs withbusiness objectives and drive measurable engagement.
- Strong Leadership & Operational Excellence: Proven abilityto lead people, processes, and cross-functional projects whilecontinuously improving workflows, establishing best practices, andmanaging complex content initiatives from strategy throughexecution.
- Distributed Environment Experience: Demonstrated successworking across teams and decentralized organizations, effectivelynavigating multiple stakeholders, priorities, and compliancerequirements.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical skills withexperience leveraging web analytics, performance metrics, andcustomer insights to identify trends, optimize content strategies,improve user experience, and influence business outcomes.
- Exceptional Communicator & Storyteller: Excellent writtenand verbal communication skills with the ability to createcompelling customer-centric narratives, simplify complex concepts,engage diverse audiences, and clearly articulate business value.Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, Communications, or arelated field required.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve digital contentstrategies that align with institutional goals, brand standards,customer needs, and student enrollment objectives.
- Manage the full content lifecycle from ideation throughimplementation, ensuring consistency, accessibility, compliancewith legal and regulatory requirements, and adherence to contentgovernance standards.
- Create, optimize, and maintain digital content across web anddigital platforms to enhance user experience, increase engagement,drive traffic, and support lead generation and enrollmentoutcomes.
- Analyze content performance using web analytics, SEO, AEO/GEO,and other digital marketing tools to evaluate effectiveness,identify opportunities, and implement data-informedimprovements.
- Establish and refine content management processes, workflows, and best practices that support operational efficiency, brandconsistency, and long-term content sustainability.
- Monitor emerging trends, technologies, and industry bestpractices in digital marketing, content strategy, searchoptimization, and user experience to enhance content effectivenessand organizational outcomes.
(35% Communication and Collaboration)
- Collaborate with Marketing, Enrollment Management, WebServices, UI/UX teams, Communications, Admissions, InstitutionalData, and other campus stakeholders to ensure cohesive messagingand alignment of content strategies.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop customer-centriccontent and digital experiences that support institutionalpriorities and business objectives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor by translating analytics, customerinsights, and performance metrics into actionable recommendationsfor stakeholders and leadership.
- Develop compelling narratives and content that effectivelycommunicate institutional value, engage diverse audiences, andstrengthen the university's brand presence.
- Facilitate communication among decentralized teams andstakeholders to ensure content initiatives are coordinated,compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.
(25% Administrative Tasks)
- Maintain content governance documentation, standards,procedures, and reporting processes to support compliance,consistency, and accountability across digital platforms.
- Prepare and present content performance reports,recommendations, and strategic updates to leadership andstakeholders.
- Coordinate project timelines, priorities, and deliverables forcontent-related initiatives, ensuring projects are completed onschedule and within established guidelines.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs), user engagementmetrics, and enrollment-related outcomes to support strategicplanning and continuous improvement efforts.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintainknowledge of evolving digital content, marketing accessibility, and higher education industry standards.
