Job summary

WAFB, part of Gray Media, in Baton Rouge, seeks a Digital Content Producer to create and publish daily digital content for web, apps, and social platforms. You will write, edit, and optimize headlines and metadata, and edit video for short-form pieces.

You will work with newsroom leadership to plan coverage, ensure accuracy, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining AP style and verification standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills; strong command of AP style and headline writing.
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices and social platform publishing workflows.
  • Proficiency with common digital tools (CMS, social publishing, basic photo/video editing software).
  • Ability to make sound editorial judgments under deadline; strong fact-checking and verification habits.
  • Comfortable collaborating across teams and taking direction while also working independently.
  • Flexible schedule willingness (nights/weekends/holidays as news demands).

Responsibilities

WAFB, located in Baton Rouge, is seeking a digital content producer to join our team.
