Job summary

Carle Health seeks a Registered Nurse for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit, a 43-bed, high-acuity unit certified in bariatric care. You will deliver post-operative care, manage complex wounds and ostomies, and work closely with surgical residents and OMFS teams to optimize patient outcomes.

The role requires an active RN license (IL/IDFPR), BLS within 30 days, and a HS Diploma/GED. Sign-on bonus of $10,000 for external applicants and relocation support are offered.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse with IL/authorization to practice in the state of Illinois (IDFPR).
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA).
• HS Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-operative care for complex surgical patients per unit standards.
• Assess, plan and implement nursing care; document accurately for the care team.
• Monitor wounds, wound VACs, ostomies and drainage; manage safety and patient education.
• Collaborate with surgical residents and OMFS services; ensure patient safety.
