Job summary

Dietitian II – Nutrition Services (Per Diem/Relief, Day position)

PeaceHealth is seeking a Dietitian II for a per diem/relief day position. Salary range: $36.46 – $54.68 per hour. Hiring rate depends on education, training, experience, and collective bargaining agreement.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of nutrition care and consulting with other healthcare professionals as needed.

Details of the Position

• Competent use of the Nutrition Care Process including nutrition assessment, identification of nutritional diagnoses, implementation of appropriate interventions, and formulation of patient‑specific goals, monitoring, evaluation, and follow‑up of outcomes.
• Using evidence‑based nutrition practice guidelines to provide nutrition education to patients and families in outpatient and/or inpatient settings.
• Provides consult services to other healthcare providers and participates in the interdisciplinary team using evidence‑based nutrition practice guidelines.
• Documents in the EMR in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
• When appropriate, makes referrals to other services, agencies, and community resources.
• Actively contributes to quality/process improvement measures within the department and throughout the hospital, including planning, implementing, and evaluating programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Dietitian I

• Master's degree required in a related field of study. Caregivers who earned their RD license before 1/1/2024 when a bachelor's degree was sufficient will be grandfathered.
• Successful completion of an approved internship/training program.
• Registered Dietitian status required at hire (or must pass the Registration Exam within 180 days).
• Licensed Dietitian – Oregon required for outpatient and PHMG/ambulatory roles in OR.

Qualifications – Dietitian II

• Master's degree required in a related field of study. Caregivers who earned their RD license before 1/1/2024 when a bachelor's degree was sufficient will be grandfathered.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian in a related setting.
• Registered Dietitian required upon hire.
• Required national dietitian certifications: Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), or Certified Nutrition Support Clinician, or Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition, Renal Nutrition, Pediatric Nutrition, Sports Dietetics, Gerontological Nutrition, or Nutrition Wound Care, as applicable to work performed. • Demonstrated skill in teaching adults of varying competency levels (required).
• Must be able to design, implement, and evaluate instructional modules (required).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (required).
• Ability to interact with all departments and work independently on numerous projects simultaneously (required).
• Proficient in the use of computers, including MS Office applications (required).
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs (required).

Working Conditions

• Lifting: Frequent moving around work area, grasping, reaching, lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs, occasional squatting, kneeling, bending.
• Environmental Conditions: Time spent on site in a medical/hospital setting or in an office environment.
• Mental/Visual: Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted); ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
